New Canon EOS Rebel T2i - Cheapest 18 Megapixel Digital SLR Camera For All

The new APS-C SLR Canon EOS Rebel T2i is positioned in the amateur band evolved and offers to everyone a 18-megapixel sensor. Video Full-HD, 3 "display with high resolution, memory slots SDXC: this little reflex does not miss anything.

Faithful winter rendezvous Canon has introduced the novelties for Spring 2010: together with compact cameras and printers, the protagonist of the event was certainly the new Canon EOS Rebel T2i digital SLR. The focus is entrusted to the new 9-point CMOS sensor TTL-CT-SIR, equipped with high sensitive f/2.8 center point.

The viewfinder pentaprism coverage of 95% and magnification of 0.87 x we felt large and airy, while the new 3-inch diagonal display and 1040k points of resolution provides an excellent support to the Live-View. The flash guide number is 13 and the shutter will sync up to 1/200sec offers.

Interesting developments in the field of video: in addition to allow movie recording Full HD (1920x1080p) at frame rates selectable by users, the EOS Rebel T2i has a crop video recording mode, which limits the resolution to 640x480 pixels, but it offers a magnification equal to 7x.

Between the connectors we find that the external microphone jack for stereo and HDMI-CEC, which allows to control the camera remotely. That the introduction of an SD / SDHC compatible with the new SDXC, memory cards will soon be able to provide storage space in the order of terabytes. EOS Rebel T2i will be on sale from March 2010 to suggest to the public price of $799.99 body only and $ 899.99 in a kit with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS.

Photo books are all the rage, and for good reason. They are more creative than a mere photo album, and a great way to have physical copies of digital photos all in one place. Here are some tips for a photo book that has a summer theme.

Photography:

So much happens during the summer months that it can be difficult to capture it all. But you have to try anyway, if you are going to make a photo book with a summer theme. The first thing you have to do is to get in the habit of having your camera with you at all times and to use it. Get a large memory stick and make a habit of loading its contents onto your computer on a regular basis. That way you can snap away without ever having to worry that you are going to run out of room.

And snap away you should. The more photos you take, the better you will get at it, and the more you will have to choose from when you are putting your book together. When you are shooting your pics, make sure that you get plenty of photos of the people in your life, of course (both candid and posed) but do the best you can to make sure that you also get lots of shots of the natural beauty of summer. Take some walks around the neighborhood, or to some parks, the beach or the mountains, and get some shots there. You will find that the more photos you take, the more you take on the mindset of a photographer, and the more ideas you will get for good photos.

As stated above, there are so many things that happen in the summer that are photo worthy that you might have a hard time choosing what to include in your book. This is a good thing. It is better to have too much material than to have not enough. Vacations, little league games, barbecues, impromptu gatherings, going down to the ol' swimming hole; these are all great photographic fodder, and you should do the best you can to capture them all.

Writing:

If you have room in your pocket for your digital camera, you can also make room for a little notebook. This will help you to write great captions for your photos, and you can also just jot down thoughts and ideas, or funny stories as they happen or as they occur to you. If you are not big on writing, you can take a look around online or in some books for great summer quotes. You can also get some help from friends for this part. A little bit of text here and there will help tie the book together.

Arranging and Designing:

There are lots of ways to do this, but the easiest is probably to find a template online and download it. However if you are adept at using programs such as InDesign, all the better! MS Word and Pagemaker can also help you in this regard.

When you are arranging the book, there are a number of ways to look at things. You could do a simple month by month retrospective, create some chapters based on the types of activities (parties, hikes, etc.), or simply grab some of your best photographs and arrange them randomly with bits of text. DO whatever feels right, and let your creativity guide you.

Leica S2 - The Best Digital 35mm Camera

The Best Digital SLR

If money is no object and you are looking for the best possible 35mm digital SLR, then you will want to know exactly which is the best digital SLR. At the moment most people would probably reply the Nikon D3, but this is about to change. This summer Leica, who were always known as the Rolls-Royce of 35mm cameras, will be launching their latest offering in digital SLRSs - the Leica S2.

The only problem there is likely to be with the new S2 is the cost. With this new digital SLR Leica are taking aim at the medium-format digital camera market, by creating a 35mm camera that can provide the same quality image as a medium-format camera such as a Hasselblad. The Leica S2 will be taking this even further by featuring a 37.5 megapixel digital sensor. In Leica's own words the Leica S2 is a "remarkable new camera from Germany that redefines the professional DSLR class with a custom 37.5-megapixel, 30 x 45 mm sensor built into a 35mm-sized body".

This digital camera is expected to seriously shake up the digital camera world and will force other manufacturers to significantly improve their products. 

The 37.5 megapixel 30 x 45 mm sensor on the Leica S2 is almost 60% larger than full frame 35mm and the quality it offers is "well beyond that obtainable by conventional pro-caliber DSLRs".

The aim is to combine the quality of a medium-format digital camera with the ergonomics, and ease of use of a 35mm DSLR.

Back in 1925 Leica redefined photography when they created the legendary model A. The S2 is expected to have the same effect on digital photography in the 21st century.

The S2 is completely weather-sealed for use in the studio and also outdoors as it is, according to Leica, the ideal camera for "people who actually want superior image quality, but the nice hand-held option of taking pictures. So more the moving kind of taking pictures."

Although the S2 approaches medium-format quality, it is significantly lighter and less cumbersome, you can therefore take it with you up mountain sides with relative ease, which cannot be said for medium-format cameras which are heavy and generally also require a tripod to be carried up the mountain too.

Leica are keen to emphasize that the S2 is a "tool, not a toy," and that it has been created for professional photographers and pro-am photographers who require quality and reliability, it also has only enough buttons as are absolutely essential to professional photographers, i.e. there is no unnecessary no clutter.

The launch of the S2 is expected for the summer of 2009 and will be up against medium-format cameras such as the Hasselblad H3DII-39 megapixel with an 80mm lens. The Hasselblad sells for around $22,000 - the Leica S2 is expected to be priced around $20,000 - so start saving.

Family Groups and Beach Portraits

Whether you're a family of 16, a family of 4, or even a family of 2, we will create beautiful images on the beach for you. Every year we have large groups up to 28 people and small parties of just 2, and regardless of the group dynamics we have a great time shooting and all of "my families" walk away happy. Thought I'd pass along some info for those looking to get their beach portrait with us this summer, or maybe you are thinking about next summer. Maybe you are part of a family of four and not sure what we can do for you, or maybe you are a large group and you are thinking, how are we going to manage this many people.

Starting with the large groups, as that is most often what people are thinking when they would like a family portrait taken on the beach. I can handle any large number of people, you can bring me 12, 28, even 50 people if you wanted. I often times say, "the More the Merrier", because we end up laughing and having one heck of a good time. With larger groups it takes a little more coordination and planning, and a little more time, but the price doesn't change, and its just a nice way to spend an afternoon. With these larger groups, the group may have many different family dynamics, Grandparents, Brothers, Sisters, Half sisters and brothers, grandkids, great grand parents, you get the idea. To help you and me both, before the shoot, think about the different combinations you might like to have photographed, and when the time comes, let me know who is who, so we can be sure to get all the different combinations you might like.

I usually like to start with the grand parents, relaxing on the sand, and photographing them by themselves. This helps me get my camera settings adjusted correctly and it gives the little ones an idea of how painless the photo taking process is. From there, I'll add the grand children in the photo with the grandparents, as that's a photo every family wants to have. And from this point it's a matter of adding everyone else to the photo, until we have everyone in the photo for our big group shot. I found it's the best way to build the big group photo, by building the family with the grandparents in the center and adding the different generations all around them. This doesn't mean we can't do it a different way, and often times, we'll end up taking multiple group photos, in different configurations.

With these larger family groups, there are often times, many smaller families, as I won't know who is who and what children belong to which parents, I often times need your help to make sure I get the smaller family units photographed with the right people. After breaking up the large group into the smaller families, from here we can shoot these photos in many different ways. An example of this setting is described below.

My classic family of 4: often times Mom, Dad, and two little ones. When shooting a family of four on the beach, I like to get shots like mom and dad together, with the little ones in their laps, and if they are old enough having the children kneeling behind the parents. And then have mom with her children and switching it up with dad and kids. Now there is all kinds of different things we can do from here, and we are only limited by our imaginations. Thankfully I've got a pretty good imagination.

If you are a family of 4 and you booked up the beach portrait and its only the four of you and us on the beach, you have options. Creative options if you are so bold as to try them, and keep in mind these are free options. With a family of four some of these ideas might appeal to you:

** You can bring a change of clothes if you want.
** You can also bring some personal props if you wanted: like Santa hats for Christmas cards later
** With babies, you can bring a towel or blanket and we can photograph them in the sand by themselves.
** I've been wanting to incorporate bubbles into some of my beach portraits for those who would like something little different.
** I've even been thinking of coming up with my own prop chest for things like hats and misc other items that might make for fun photos.

My families of two and three, you have all the cool options as a family of 4, only you get a few more options to add on to that. With less and less people in the group can make for a quicker shoot, or if you wanted to utilize the same amount of time, that's fine, as that will give you more images in the end anyway. I can sometimes photograph a family of 6 and shoot some 400 images and with the right family of 2 who are ok with spending the time, can walk away with 400 images easy, and in some cases, even 500 images might be taken. With less people in the photo, it gives us more time to experiment and gives us more locations to shoot at if we wanted. That's why I love photographing High School Seniors, as they will often times be OK with the time we spend shooting in different locations and being able to experiment with different camera effects we'll come away with many unique and exciting shots from our photo session.

The moral of this article or better put, if you are looking to book us up for a family beach portrait, get ready to have fun, and don't be afraid to voice your thoughts, opinions, or photo ideas. Together we can make our family beach portraits a photo shoot to remember. We can shoot as many photos as we have day light to shoot in, and sometimes we'll shoot well into the dusk time. We can get as conservative or as crazy as you might like. With nature as your own personal studio the limits are endless. We can do whatever you might like with this beach portrait, as it is your photo shoot, why wouldn't you want to make it into what you want?

The Rebel - An Article About Canon Rebel XTi

The EOS 400D, called the Rebel XTi in North America, is a single-lens reflex digital camera. Canon introduced this unique looking camera in 2006. It's the successor of the EOS 350D.

Canon considers the Rebel to be the best entry-level digital single lens camera of its kind on the market. It's a priced below $1,000.00 which makes it affordable especially when the lens is included. It produces some fine images with pure, sharp colors. It's also very quiet.

They upgraded the CMOS sensor to an impressive 10.1 megapixels. Among the other added features we get a larger continuous shooting buffer, an integrated image sensor, vibrating cleaning system and a more precise nine point auto focus system.

Canon didn't stop there! They even improved the grip of the unit and gave us a nice 2.5" LCD with 230,000 pixels and a larger viewing angle which replaced an ill-conceived top status screen. The changes Canon made to the newer model has a tendency to underexpose the subject whereas the older versions overexposed.

As a user of this model I've come to find out that if you remove your glasses or cover up the view finder it greatly limits the light from entering the unit and giving you an unwanted look. Sort of like a filter for the light. This is a fault in the calibration of the product and can't readily be fixed by upgrades.

I was personally impressed by the censor as the camera boasts 10.5 million pixels, RGB filter array, built-in low-pass filter and a nice 3:2 aspect ratio.

It outputs in three image sizes that can meet most photographer needs:

3888 x 2592

2816 x 1800

1936 x 1288

The camera allows you to save files in jpeg and large form raw files giving you the ability to connect via USB, video and remote to take your photos from the camera to your computer for printing and/or editing.

Rebel XTi retails at around $800.00 but if you want the optional lens kit that comes along for the ride you'll be paying roughly $100.00 more. This lowers the bar for other $1,000.00 10 megapixel cameras like the Nikon D80 which was also showcased in 2006. I'm looking forward to upgrading to the 5.6 IS USM lens which is Canon's fastest standard lens in production to date.

One feature that is revolutionary is the way the camera handles dust on the sensor! Dust, unfortunately, is attracted to electronics. Canon, after years of denying the existence of dust being able to get on the camera sensor, finally admitted it and fixed it!

Dust pretty much shows up from several sources but typically it's from fragments released by the moving components inside the camera. Before you had to take the camera apart to clean it or use some sort of blower or mini vacuum.

Canon took care of this issue by implementing the following:

* Used materials in the mirror box and shutter chamber which are less likely to generate dust.

* Improved the body cap, again to not generate dust.

* Used anti-static coating on the sensor surface.

* Created a new separated anti-alias filter which vibrates to shake off dust.

* Added a Dust Delete Data feature which can map stubborn dust to be removed in software.

This all helps keep your camera healthy for prolonged use. You can smile as your fellow photographers take time out of shoots to try and swab out their cameras while you continue to snap gleefully away.

As I've mentioned earlier there are two separate versions of the Rebel XTi but what comes in the box? And what doesn't?

Unfortunately the one drawback I found was that the camera did not come with a memory card. This can hinder your potential. So when you're going out to buy keep that in mind. CompactFlash cards are fairly inexpensive these and depending on your needs I'd do what I did and pick up a 1GB card. For tech heads out there the XTi supports Type I and II cards and even the microdrive. You might also want to pick up a 50X or better CF card.

I love photography and my work dictated the need for the lens kit so I sprung for it. When you get the kit you also get Canon's second gen 18-55 mm EF-S in the box. It's not the best and aperture can vary to small and unclear. I had little use for this one since the other lenses are quite nice.

The Rebel XTi uses the same lithium-ion battery as its predecessor. The energy value of the batter is right in the middle of the pack with the life of it about 10% less. Bigger LCD takes more power.

Personally I love this camera. I use it as a back up to my professional setup. If you want quality for price and reliability then I suggest the Rebel XTi. It makes a great mid-range camera for everyday photography needs such as real estate agents, car dealers and family vacations.

Easily the best GoW2 montage yet. As far as gameplay goes, let's just put it this way. There's a two for one bow headshot. In the fucking CREDITS. Sniper quads and Torque 2 for 1 headshots galore, even if you don't like GoW2, you'll probably love this. The editing (By GunnReX), was just enough to keep the video interesting, and without affecting the visual experience of the gameplay. As well as keeping a consistent approach to the gameplay, the editing kept the montage extremely upbeat and fast paced. At times it seemed like a flurry of clips of pure rape just screaming through the monitor. And you have to love the HD Ghost camera angles haha. Tamron 70-300mm Review - The Best Budget Telephoto Lens

I recommend this lens for photographers in search of a budget telephoto lens.

I tried the Nikon mount version on my Nikon D300s DSLR. Tamron also manufactures this lens for Canon, Pentax, and Sony DSLR cameras. Though many manufacturers such as Canon and Nikon used to produce a lens in this range using the same formula, they soon stopped. However, Tamron continued to improve their optical formula of their lens and the end product is very good.

This lens is a steal at its $165 street price. I have not come across a lower priced lens in this category. It has amazing optical quality and the build quality is acceptable. I have recommended this to many of my friends, who were looking for a budget lens and many are pleased.

For the price, the lens offers many excellent features. It has a fast and accurate autofocus features (although a bit noisy). This can be a distraction when you're trying to shoot discretely. However, you can remedy the situation by switching to manual focus. The front element rotates when focusing, so using a polarizing filter is not easy. Since this is a telephoto lens, and most people don't shoot landscape using telephoto, I don't foresee this to be a major problem for most users.

When I tested this lens on a cropped sensor DSLR, I found that the sharpness at both the center and the borders to be good. Only at 300mm does the border sharpness decrease. I also tested this lens for distortion and chromatic aberration. Both were negligible.

The zoom ring is a bit too tight for my comfort; I had to exert considerable force to rotate it. Surprisingly, the lens extended without any wobbling.

In dim light, use manual focusing as the slow aperture tends to make the lens hunt.

This lens can be used with either a full frame camera or a cropped sensor camera. I haven't had a chance to test this with a full frame camera, but I can definitely recommend this lens for any cropped sensor camera user looking for a budget telephoto lens.

Keep in mind that this is not a professional lens and I would not recommend this lens for professional photography.

The pentaprism then reflects the picture so you can see it in the viewfinder. Now, it may seem like a long process, but the camera does it in less than a second, so no worries.

One of the best features of the SLR is the view finder. Although, what you see in the view finder is usually not 100% accurate, it is pretty darn close. Another key feature that is great about SLR cameras is that you can change lenses. Aside from the camera itself, the lens used will play a big role in how good your picture turns around. The lens will determine factors such as contrast, color, and clarity of your final picture. You can choose lenses that are perfect for your needs, which is great. A landscape photographer will generally not use a lens which is the same as one a sports photographer will use.
